More and more often we talk about designing artifacts and experiences to be People Centered, or done in a way that very intentionally considers how a person might want to engage with a thing. This idea is generally applied to long term solutions like products we use each day, websites we use and even environments we encounter like your favorite local bar or restaurant. People Centered methods should also be designed and used in creative innovation processes or a Design Thinking processes to more effectively collect data and ideas. This workshop will review how a group of leaders from one of Indiana’s Fortune 100 companies used game playing tools and competition to drastically increase the quantity and creativeness of ideas surrounding a specific problem area they were investigating. We will tell their story and then take time to use their tools in a playful hands on idea generating session.
