Indianapolis, IN, May 17, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Hyatt Regency Indianapolis announced today a unique new program with their partner, Indianapolis Power & Light, (IPL) to power their 499-room hotel with 100% renewable wind energy starting May 1st. Going forward, 100% of the hotel’s electrical needs will be generated by this environmentally friendly renewable resource. As referenced on the IPL website, “Participation in this program helps support the development of renewable energy sources, which will in turn eventually help reduce our reliance on fossil-fueled power.” This reduction in carbon consumption will be the equivalent of reducing the C02 emissions of almost 500 average homes each year or 9 million lbs. of C02.
“Renewable energy models are taking center stage and we’re proud to be a part of such a positive and impactful program,” said Joe Pinto, Hyatt Regency Indianapolis General Manager. “Renewable energy projects are one of the single biggest strides a company can make and our team at the Hyatt Regency embraces this project.”
On the heels of Hyatt Regency Indianapolis’ recent 40th Anniversary celebration, the hotel looks to the future and is committed to making a strong environmental impact in Indianapolis. The hotel is proud to be a Green leader in the hospitality and business community.
